I linked to a handful of mixtapes here over the past couple of months. I decided to go back and listen to some and guess what?! They’re Whack! They aren’t all whack. That Rumors joint by Gangsta Boo goes hard just so you know, So does N.O.M.A.D’s Domination album. With those exceptions and a hand full of others, I can honestly say mixtapes just don’t have any heart these days. Rappers spend to much time tryin’ to push numbers numbers like Wayne. You ain’t Wayne. You can’t put out 238 Mixtapes in one summer! Why would you even want to. The modern mixtape is supposed to be a medium that showcases your versatility! Show another side of yourself people might not ordinarily see. That is if your carrying the entire work on your own back. Step your game up Rapper! I’m not linking to any more garbage. I’ll be making my own mixtapes from now on. Actually I’ll be making some interesting compilations because I’m not a REAL DJ. I just portray one on the Interweb.
